I was the kind of kid that tried it all; ice-skating, karate, tennis, basketball, soccer, robot club, 3D printing, furniture building, gaming… I could go on. But music, dance, and theater have always been the realms in which I’ve felt the most human. Sometimes, pretending to be someone else is when I feel the most me.

Whether performing, directing, writing, or watching, I’ve been pretty obsessed with dissecting the mechanics of theater for as long as I can remember. What is theater? Why do we do it? Why do we watch it? How does it all work?

I’ve approached these questions from every angle. With Broadway Dreams, I’ve performed in five cities over six years; Los Angeles, CA, New York City, NY, Wilmington, PA, Charlotte, VA, and Philadelphia, PA.

I’ve played Janis in Mean Girls, Mama Morton in Chicago, Fiona in Shrek, and the Jack of Spades in the third ever production of Alice by Heart. Musically, I sing and play drums, piano, guitar, and have dabbled in ukulele and harmonica. My band VHS have been playing together for three years now, including at Fuse Fest in the Catskills, NY. With Rockers on Broadway, I’ve sung at Rockers on the Rise and the 30th anniversary show honoring Melissa Etheridge. At Shipley, I’ve directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream and assistant choreographed for Chicago. In 2024, my own work will be performed for the first time, also at Shipley. Additionally, recently, my whole family has joined the producing team for Broadway’s upcoming revival of Once Upon a Mattress.

Through all of this, I’ve never been able to zoom in on the one thing that makes theater theater: the human beings who make it. Enter: Mirrors. With this podcast, I hope to find answers to some of my lifelong questions, and perhaps unfurl some new questions too. I hope you enjoy the show!

"Theater is the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being." – Oscar Wilde
